Four former apprentice and trainee journalists, who studied at PA Media Academy, have been recognised in MHP’s #30towatch awards.
Each year 30 winners under 30 are chosen for their storytelling, investigations and impact in categories ranging from News and Culture to Business and Lifestyle.
Dan Ajose studied the Journalist apprenticeship with ITV News. He has won the Culture, Entertainment and Lifestyle award.
Dan says: “Winning an award in Culture, Entertainment & Lifestyle means so much to me. It’s a recognition not just of my work, but of the stories and voices that deserve to be seen, heard, and celebrated.
“I’ve always aimed to make news feel accessible, engaging, and relevant — especially in the world of entertainment, which is where I’ve wanted to work since the very start of my journalism journey. The award is a huge honour, but it’s the acknowledgement that really means the most. It’s a reminder that the work I’m passionate about resonates — and that’s incredibly rewarding.”

The BBC’s Zoe Dennis has won the 30 to Watch Breakthrough Award, given to reporters who have not been to university.
The judges commented: “Zoe Dennis’ evocative reports focussing on contemporary subcultures pushing boundaries were well handled with sensitivity and humanity. Zoe’s stories proved very popular too with their audiences successfully tapping into the zeitgeist.”
Zoe said: “I am beyond pleased to have won the Breakthrough category award. This recognition is a mark of my passion for journalism and that hard work really does pay off! It also emphasis for me, and hopefully others, that you don’t have to attend university to start succeeding as a journalist”
