Media Training Interview Skills: Essentials

Learn the key skills for giving confident and engaging media interviews

This half-day media training course will develop your media spokesperson skills, show you how to give a good interview and build your confidence in doing so.

What you’ll learn

Landing a spot on a TV or radio news programme or getting a quote into print or online articles is a powerful way of getting exposure for your business. This media interview skills course will teach you how to craft key messages, anticipate and answer tricky questions and perform confidently on camera.

We’ll discuss the way the media works, what journalists are looking for in an interview, the pitfalls to avoid and what we can learn from case studies of real-world good and bad interviews.

How you’ll learn

The course is led by a broadcast journalist who is also a specialist media trainer with years of experience preparing spokespeople for print, radio and TV interviews.

Over three hours, they’ll use presentations, case studies, videos and practical exercises, culminating in a recorded TV mock interview to put all you’ve learned about how to give a good interview into practice. Recordings are played back, so the trainer can critique, advise and help you improve. After completing the media interview training, you’ll receive full course notes by email and a link from which to download your interview recording.
