Writing & Reporting Courses

Our newsroom sets the standard – our courses help you achieve it. Essential reporting and writing courses from PA Media, the UK and Ireland’s national news agency.

When it comes to news and features we know what makes a great story – and how to help people write them. Writing and reporting courses from PA Media Academy draw on our experience and heritage as a newsroom, and reflect the high standards to which we are held.

You’ll learn from senior editors and writers who know the importance of nailing the fundamentals and communicating clearly, as well as developing your own style. With a focus on practical exercises, you’ll receive practical feedback on your work that allows you to progress quickly and build your confidence and reputation.

Real-time exercises, such as our interactive press conference experience, allow you to test your learning and build your skills in a safe environment.

We’re always happy to hear from organisations who like the sound of what we do but can’t quite see a course that fits their needs. We welcome bespoke enquiries and are happy working with delegates at all levels – from entry-level reporters finding their way around a news story, to seasoned writers developing their feature-writing skills and freelances developing their craft.

We also cater for people in non-writing roles who want to build their skills, and offer business communications courses.

All our reporting and writing courses are available to book as bespoke training for your team, and some are scheduled as courses available to all that you can book as an individual. Find our current calendar here.
