How to Write Perfect Press Releases: Advanced

Add flair and polish to your press releases with feedback from an experienced editor

This four-hour press release training session will help you take your press release writing skills to the next level.

What You’ll Learn: Using quotes and case studies, and receive 1:1 press release feedback

Building on your press release writing basics, we’ll spend time refining your writing and approach. You’ll learn about the power of quotes – including how to get the best ones and the best way to present them – as well as gaining insight into why journalists love case studies. And you’ll receive tips for navigating projects with multiple stakeholders and how to effectively modify your pitches for different audiences.

In the second segment of the course you’ll focus on practical press release writing with an interactive clinic where you will receive actionable feedback on releases you have written. We’ll ask you to share in advance a release you’ve recently sent or are currently working on, and then you’ll benefit from feedback given by an experienced former editor and practitioner. You’ll also have time to work on exercises and further refine your work.

This advice will help you improve your current and future releases, and make sure your story ends up on a journalists’ ‘yes’ pile. The clinic ends with a group discussion on key lessons from the day.

How you’ll learn

This two-module press release training course will be led by an excellent trainer and practitioner who will share their practical expertise through presentations, discussion and practical exercises – ensuring you have opportunity to reinforce your learning and test your understanding.
