Social Media Masterclass: From Boomers to Gen Alpha

Connect with social audiences of all generations using content and platforms that work for them

This one-day social media training will give you a solid understanding of the current state of play in social media and how to use various platforms to connect with different generations.

What you’ll learn: How to reach different generations on various platforms

When it comes to social media, a one-size fits all approach doesn’t work. This course will give you an understanding of the ever-changing social media landscape and guide you through identifying which generation to target.

Delivered in partnership with PA Media Group colleagues Hydrogen, the largest specialist social media agency in Scotland, you’ll learn from experts who live and breathe social media and can guide you through connecting with different generations.

Starting with Gen Z and Alpha, you’ll take an in-depth look at how they use the internet, from their go-to apps to the types of content they engage with.  You’ll learn how to create a tone of voice that speaks to them – and why that matters – as well as how to authentically jump on social trends.

How do the online habits of Millennials and Boomers differ to those of younger audiences? And what does this mean for brands and content creators?  You’ll take a detailed look at the types of content they engage with – and the apps and websites they do it on – and learn how to take a ‘pillars’ approach to content planning and curation, receiving advice and feedback from an experienced social media editor every step of the way.

Other practical exercises you’ll complete include drafting a tone of voice document and creating a content calendar.

How you’ll learn

Your three-module social media training will be led by an experienced social media expert from specialist agency Hydrogen who will share their knowledge and expertise through presentations, discussion and practical exercises. You’ll receive feedback on the hands-on tasks and leave ready to make your content ideas a reality.
