Welcome to PA Media Academy

Today PA Training relaunches as PA Media Academy – with a new digital home, branding and training courses. We hope you enjoy exploring our new site and products.

The Academy will offer a significantly expanded range of professional training courses for people in the journalism, content and communications industries looking to gain new skills and a competitive edge. These four-and six-hour short courses cover essential and advanced skills for journalists, content makers and communications professionals, and can be booked by organisations or individuals.

In addition, PA Media Academy’s specialist media trainers offer training to spokespeople to respond to tough questioning and appear on camera. Delegates can also build essential speaking and communication skills and develop their understanding of crisis media handling and interviews.

And for those looking to expand their careers through an apprenticeship, we have also added a Level 3 Content Creator apprenticeship to our slate of journalism and communications apprenticeships training, and will continue to offer expert media training.

Vicky Frost, Managing Director, PA Media Academy said: “Our bold new brand mirrors the confidence we have in our training courses – and in the expert practitioners and trainers who deliver them.

“With a revised and reimagined programme of short courses aimed at professionals, gold-standard media training, leading apprenticeship training and our thriving NCTJ Diploma courses, we are thrilled to be working hand-in-hand with industry partners to deliver relevant training that reflects current practice.”

PA Media Academy builds on the expertise of PA Media, the UK and Ireland’s national news agency, and content and communications businesses within PA Media Group. New short courses focused on social media, for example, will be delivered in partnership with Hydrogen social media agency, part of PAMG.

The Academy is the first time that PA Media’s training courses for the journalism, content and communications industries – providing supportive, relevant development from entry- to director-level – have been brought together in one place.

The Academy offers hands-on fast-track and part-time NCTJ Diploma courses, in which trainees learn the essentials of news and digital journalism alongside law, public affairs, ethics and shorthand. Options in digital features and sports journalism are also available.

We also train journalism apprentices for the UK’s leading newsrooms including the Sun, Times Radio, TalkSport, the BBC, Sky News, the FT and the Telegraph, with apprentices studying at PA Media Academy alongside gaining experience in the workplace. Our apprentices regularly win industry awards including the NCTJ Apprentice of the Year.

As we say: Our newsroom sets the standard – our training helps you achieve it.
